Vinmec Times City is the first hospital in Vietnam to be accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI), the world leader in healthcare accreditation. Until now, Vinmec Times City and Vinmec Central Park have been re-accredited for 3 and 2 times consecutively. And Vinmec Healthcare System is the one and only medical system with 2 JCI-accredited hospitals.

The Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation is recognized as the gold standard for patient care and safety in the international healthcare community. Any organization meeting its accreditation standard is awarded a Gold Seal of Approval®—a distinguished symbol of accomplishing all standards.

The Joint Commission International (JCI) identifies measures, and shares best practices in quality and patient safety in more than 90 countries around the world. It includes 14 chapters, 285 standards and 1,166 measurable elements. More than five hundred hospitals, laboratories, and special programs in 53 countries outside the US have earned JCI accreditation.

In order to be accredited, an international healthcare provider must meet the rigorous standards set forth by JCI. These standards helps the provider to improves risk management, strengthens patient safety efforts, creates a culture of patient safety throughout the hospital, enhances staff abilities and hospital operation. Overall, it provides a competitive advantage in the health care and strengthens community confidence in the quality and safety of care, treatment, and services.

In 2022, Vinmec Times City & Vinmec Central Park were the first 2 hospitals in Asia to be ACC-accredited for both Heart failure and Cardiac Cath-lab. The Center of Cardiology was also recognized as the first Center of Excellence (CoE) in Asia for cardiology. This assures the best quality of care at Vinmec.

ACC is one of the most pretigious associations in cardiology which takes a lead role in sharing quality practices that optimize the care and outcomes of patients with cardiovascular disease worldwide through innovative cross-disciplinary processes and education. ACC accreditation provides hospitals with practical resources and support to minimize gaps in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease, and transforms CV patient care and drives process improvement through the implementation of guideline-driven medical therapies, best practices, and evidence-based initiatives. Hospitals achieving an ACC accreditation are committed to establishing a method for sustainable quality improvement.

In 2022, Vinmec Times City was accredited by RTAC for its outstanding efforts and quality in fertility. In accordance with RTAC quality standards, Vinmec’s Fertility Center assures that:

• Our pregnancy rates are comparable to international standards and institutions
• Our quality management system places utmost priority in preventing mismatch
• Patient treatment is managed by a team of qualified and experienced staff
• We provide adequate materials and assistance to reduce patient stress during your IVF journey towards parenthood

RTAC committee is formed to develop the Code of Practice and oversees the accreditation of ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology) units. The Code of Practice was developed to set and maintain minimum standards of ART units and ensure continuous improvement in the quality of care offered to couples who need fertility treatments.

The Code of Practice has been benchmarked against the Standards for Safety and Quality in Healthcare, which covers a wide spectrum of specifications in quality management system, process controls, service requirements and qualifications of key personnel. With these in place, each procedure and process is properly documented and controlled to give our patients confidence and reassurances that they are being looked after by certified and qualified personnel.
