Professor Tran Trung Dung graduated as a doctor from Hanoi Medical University in 2000, then he passed an exam to be a resident doctor at Viet Duc University Hospital from 2001 to 2004. In 2012, he obtained his PhD degree in Orthopaedic Surgery from Hanoi Medical University, in 2015 he was recognized as an Associate Professor and in 2020 he was recognized as a Professor of Medicine.
Before joining Vinmec International Hospital and Vin University, he taught at Hanoi Medical University and worked at many hospitals in Hanoi such as Viet Duc University Hospital, Hanoi Medical University Hospital, St Paul General Hospital, as well as providing professional support to hospitals in Hanoi and the Northern provinces.
He has participated and completed many training courses on orthopedic surgery, arthroscopy, joints replacement, sports medicine and especially bone and soft tissues tumor surgery in different countries such as Australia, Korea, Japan, USA, France.
He has surgical experience with more than 1000 hip replacements, more than 500 knee replacements, nearly 10,000 knee arthroscopy cases, more than 500 shoulder arthroscopy cases, 100 shoulder, elbow and joint replacements. More than 1000 arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgeries to treat carpal tunnel syndrome, especially he has successfully performed more than 200 limb-sparing surgeries in cases of bone and soft tissue cancer with different surgery techniques such as megaprosthesis, allograft prosthesis composite, composition of PEEK and prosthesis.
